What to do if a 500 Internal Server Error occurs?

If your site shows a 500 Internal Server Error, this is most likely caused by an incorrect entry in the .htaccess or php.ini file.

Check the permissions of your files and folders.

On PHPSuExec servers, you cannot have any files with 777 permissions.

For security reasons, all folders should be kept at 755 and files at 644.
